About the role

Staff Software Engineer to join the Detection & Deception (DnD) Team, focusing on evolving Tripwires (honeytokens) within the NodeZero platform. Lead end-to-end technical work, ship new security capabilities, and collaborate across product, design, and engineering to improve customers' security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and ship new security capabilities within NodeZero on the Tripwires team.
  • Partner with product managers and designers to identify high-impact opportunities and turn ideas into MVPs and production features.
  • Conduct product research, threat-informed design, and feature development focused on honeytoken and honeypot creation, deployment, and detection logic for Tripwires and adjacent products like Rapid Response.

Qualifications

  • Python: Expert-level proficiency in large-scale Python software development.
  • Network Security: Deep experience with reconnaissance and lateral movement.
  • Windows Experience: Proficiency with Active Directory, Windows authentication, and other Windows internals.
  • Network Protocols: Strong understanding of SMB and WMI and their exploitation vectors.
  • Database Experience: Experience with relational (Postgres) or graph (Neo4j) databases.
  • Security Experience: Minimum of 4 years building offensive or defensive security solutions (endpoint, threat detection, or low-level systems).
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Equivalent experience considered via proof-of-concept write-ups or published vulnerability research.
