About the role

Senior analytics engineering role focused on building a trusted, governed canonical product data layer for Horizon3’s Federal business, bridging product data Modeling and governance to enable self-service analytics and production-grade metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines and data models that translate raw product usage and event telemetry into trusted, well-documented analytics assets.
  • Partner with Product Engineering on the canonical product data layer — ensuring product usage cohorts and behavioral signal definitions are built on accurate, governed source data.
  • Partner with the Data Governance function: support taxonomy definition, prepare metrics for certification, and maintain documentation to governance standards (including AI/machine-readable structure).
  • Build and own the semantic layer and self-service data models for Product Analytics to enable confident querying without heavy SQL dependence.
  • Own data quality monitoring and anomaly detection for product usage data, collaborating with Data Engineering on pipeline/platform-level issues.
  • Contribute analytics engineering support to expansion/upsell cohort work, turning usage thresholds, feature adoption, and seat utilization into production-grade metrics.
  • Collaborate with data stakeholders to define analytics standards and ensure Product Analytics practices align with evolving company-wide methodology.
  • Present technical data concepts and business implications to engineering, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive engineering best practices within the Product Analytics team's data assets.
  • Ensure compliance of tooling and data flows with US Federal frameworks (FedRAMP, DoD IL4/5) and classified workloads.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience spanning data engineering and analytics, ideally bridging both
  • Advanced SQL and hands-on experience with dbt and/or government-approved equivalents
