About the role

Senior Product Manager responsible for defining and growing Plasmidsaurus' microbial portfolio (bacterial and yeast whole genome sequencing, shotgun metagenomics, and microbiome analysis) to achieve revenue growth, adoption, and customer satisfaction in the microbial research community.

Responsibilities

  • Define the microbial portfolio strategy and identify differentiation and long-term growth opportunities.
  • Prioritize product investments based on customer value, scientific opportunity, technical feasibility, and business impact.
  • Lead customer discovery, market research, competitive analysis, and business case development for new products and services.
  • Own the microbial product roadmap from concept through launch and lifecycle management.
  • Partner with R&D, Engineering, Commercial and Lab teams to translate customer needs into scalable sequencing products.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales on product positioning, launch plans, and commercial strategy.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and continuously improve adoption, customer satisfaction, and revenue.
  • Use customer feedback and business performance to refine priorities and inform future investments.

Qualifications

  • PhD preferred (or other advanced degree) in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience launching products or services with measurable customer value.
  • Deep understanding of microbial research, customer segments, and sequencing applications.
  • Direct experience researching bacteria, yeast, viruses, microbial communities, or related systems.
  • Strong product management fundamentals: customer research, market analysis, prioritization, roadmap development, pricing strategy, and business case modeling.
  • Technical familiarity with long- and short-read sequencing technologies, library preparation, and downstream data analysis.
  • Familiarity with microbiology laboratory methods.
  • Experience spanning the sequencing workflow from sample preparation through data analysis is preferred.
