About the role

Contractor role focused on shaping the data ecosystem, building robust pipelines, leading technical direction, mentoring engineers, and driving large-scale data analytics initiatives in a remote setting (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica).

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction for the analytics team (architecture, conventions, approach).
  • Raise the technical floor through code review, design reviews, and pairing, maintaining high quality standards."
  • Own the architecture of our data models, with accountability for long-term maintainability.
  • Own the semantic layer, metric definitions, and governed self-service for correct stakeholder insights.
  • Act as the primary technical partner to Product, Finance, Marketing, and Engineering, translating needs into a realizable roadmap.
  • Negotiate scope directly with stakeholders.
  • Drive proactive analysis to surface questions the business hasn\'t asked.
  • Define the team\'s data testing strategy and govern validation of business logic across the analytics layer.
  • Own the operational health of the analytics layer (monitoring, alerting, incident response, release readiness).
  • Mentor engineers, promote documentation and technical presentations to build shared understanding.
  • Lead large-scale migrations and performance initiatives, enabling the team to execute.

Qualifications

  • 8+ Years experience working with data in a software environment.
  • Mastered proficiency in SQL and Python; advanced experience with data catalog tooling, data integrity testing frameworks, and semantic layer tooling.
  • Experience with dbt orchestration and best practices.
