About the role

Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) Consulting Practice Leader responsible for architecture design, delivery governance, practice development, trusted advisor activities, and thought leadership to drive Microsoft Cloud and AI solutions for strategic customers.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers customer/partner insights from a broad range of stakeholders as well as the main business sponsor to shape and form both the definition and ongoing execution of projects. Identifies and evaluates industry trends and adapts business models, plans, and solutions to insights.
  • Works with customer/partner stakeholders (e.g., Enterprise Architects, Security Team, Development Team, Operations Team) and business sponsor to socialize both the business solution and the project approach to determine if changes are needed to the business solution; communicates feedback and updates solution approach and projected costs as needed.
  • Uses evidence-based approach to represent the customer/partner as a customer advocate and shares insights with Product Engineering teams and the business.
  • Leverages a structured approach to Architecture Projects using existing methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative); proposes and develops new solutions to scale across multiple customers/partners; maintains architecture documentation and traceability matrices.
  • Defines and documents architecture to communicate value proposition and leads complex cost-based and technology-based discussions; demonstrates business value and ROI.
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager to drive governance for design, build, deployment, proofs of concepts, and pilots; demonstrates business value of the solution.
  • Gathers and ratifies requirements and constraints with stakeholders; maintains traceability; drives test plans and handles defects in collaboration with PM and customer.
  • Builds and documents a costed Solution Approach; leads implementation with Project Manager; establishes quality practices and standard release methodology.
  • Anticipates and mitigates risks; coordinates Microsoft team to address blockers; resolves escalations; plans pathways in complex scenarios; delegates specialized work.
  • Identifies, categorizes, and communicates business and technical risks; defines risk mitigation and contingency plans; oversees delivery across portfolios if needed.
  • Generates new/improved intellectual property; drives reuse and participates in internal/external communities.
  • Develops a network of relationships with senior decision makers; acts as advisor; stays current with Microsoft technologies; mentors others; leads adoption of Microsoft solutions; differentiates offerings in customer conversations.
  • Leads virtual teams by sharing ideas and strategic/technical input; participates in external architect community events; mentors less experienced colleagues; drives recognition for Microsoft solutions.
  • Embodies culture and values; maintains knowledge of Microsoft mission, strategy, and capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years' experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security) OR Master's Degree in related field AND 6+ years experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
  • 1+ year(s) experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.
