About the role

Lead AI-native platform and ML systems engineering efforts for large-scale reinforcement learning and AI infrastructure, guiding distributed services, performance optimization, and end-to-end engineering excellence across SDLC with responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve distributed services that underpin massive training runs
  • Improve iteration loops for researchers and engineers
  • Debug complex interactions between models and hardware
  • Apply advanced performance optimization techniques that directly impact product quality and operational excellence
  • Develop deep expertise in ML systems, AI infrastructure, and compute orchestration
  • Ship platform capabilities that enable mission-critical AI workloads for customers around the world
  • AI-Native Development: provide technical leadership on AI tools across SDLC and ensure responsible AI practices
  • Coding: oversee maintainable, secure, high-quality code and establish metrics and patterns
  • Design: own architecture discussions, evaluate designs, and ensure performance, scalability, and compliance
  • Engineering Excellence: champion new trends, drive GenAI tooling adoption
  • Implement: guide project plans, resource management, security/compliance alignment, and release planning
  • Reliability and Supportability: improve live-site operations, incident response, and observability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 8+ years technical engineering and/or technical leadership experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python or equivalent
  • Prior cloud software development, reinforcement learning, post-training, and container workloads preferred
  • Prior people management experience preferred
  • Ability to debug, read code and work in a large codebase
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements (Microsoft Cloud Background Check)
