About the role

Senior Software Engineer II on the Platform team, focusing on reducing workflow distance, AI-powered product experiences, and cross-platform full-stack infrastructure for the Samsara dashboard. Remote (US) role.

Responsibilities

  • - Help shape the technical direction of the platform, including full-stack systems, shared patterns, and AI-powered product experiences for the Samsara dashboard.
  • - Design and build end-to-end features that bring AI into real product workflows, spanning customer-facing experiences, backend services, and supporting infrastructure.
  • - Scale the systems and foundations behind the web experience to support growth in product usage and AI adoption without sacrificing reliability, quality, or usability.
  • - Standardize patterns and raise the technical bar through code reviews, design discussions, mentorship, and collaboration with product, design, and peer teams.
  • - Partner with engineering and product leadership on high-leverage bets, make tradeoffs, and help build a team culture focused on long-term thinking, inclusiveness, and shared success.
  • - Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Customer Success, Long Term, Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally.

Qualifications

  • - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • - 8+ years building software with strong programming and design fundamentals.
  • - 4+ years working on large-scale distributed systems.
  • - 4+ years leading technical projects across multiple teams.
