About the role

Senior Consulting Engineer to join ClickHouse's global Support Services team. Provides consultative support and project engineering across enterprise customers, blending hands-on engineering, development assistance, and high-tier support. Remote role based in Australia (Sydney or Melbourne).

Responsibilities

  • Project Engineering & Consulting (50%): design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation; research, benchmarking, performance testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, development and tooling.
  • Consultative Support (50%): case-initiated consultative support to strategic users, assisting with implementation, onboarding, production launches, and POCs.
  • Provide architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on tasks.
  • Work as a member of the Support Team handling L1 to L3 cases when not on projects.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to influence product roadmap and account plans.
  • Develop and assist with content (Documentation, Knowledge Base, Learning materials, Reference Architectures, blogs, benchmarks).
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.
  • Be available for scheduling and on-call needs, including up to 35% onsite regional travel.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed DBMS.
  • Technical breadth in DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System/Network Administration, and big data.
  • Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects with multiple engineers.
  • Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their IaaS offerings.
