About the role

Senior Consulting Engineer to provide consultative and hands-on support to ClickHouse enterprise customers, blending engineering, development assistance, and high-tier support across Consultative Support, Engineering, and Support.

Responsibilities

  • Project Engineering & Consulting (50%): design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation on customer projects; research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, integration, development, and tooling.
  • Consultative Support (50%): case-initiated consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects; assist with implementation, onboarding, production launches, and POCs.
  • Provide architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on tasks.
  • Work as a member of the Support Team, handling L1 to L3 cases and communications when not actively assigned to customer projects.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on product roadmap and account plans.
  • Develop and assist with content (Public/Internal Documentation, Knowledge Base, ClickHouse Learning, Reference Architecture, blogs, benchmarks).
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members as we grow.
  • Available for scheduling and on-call needs to provide 24x7 support in a global environment, including up to 35% onsite regional travel.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed DBMSs.
  • Technical breadth in DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System or Network Administration, and big data.
  • Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects with multiple engineers.
  • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their IaaS offering (e.g. EC2)
