About the role

Infrastructure Engineers build the foundation for Ivo's distributed system, ensuring isolated customer environments with reliable uptime, multi-cluster deployments, and strong security while aligning with LLM-driven product initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Run Kubernetes like it's your own startup within the startup. Own multi-cluster, multi-region deployments across AWS/GCP/Azure, with failover and disaster recovery that actually works when it matters (not just on paper)
  • Tools for infra. Build internal tools for creating and managing clusters so dev to production is consistent
  • Isolated workloads. Design strategy balancing cost, performance, and reliability for ML vs API traffic
  • Security. Implement RBAC, workload identity, secrets management, data residency, and audit trails with minimal burden on product velocity
  • Honest SLO/SLIs. Create targets that are enforceable and meaningful
  • Own pipelines. GitHub Actions for CI/CD and Pulumi for IaC
  • Docker environments. Across dev, staging, and prod
  • Bugs. Infra should be detective level good at finding bugs across frontend, backend, etc.
  • Make engineering faster. Automate repetitive tasks to speed up builds and improve environments
  • Own uptime. Observability and visibility are your responsibility
  • Learn and lead when things go wrong. Run incident response and write actionable postmortems

Qualifications

  • Kubernetes expert (deep knowledge, not just deployment)
  • IaC and CI/CD experience (Pulumi or Terraform), Docker, GitHub Actions, multi-cluster/multi-region setups
  • You think in failure modes and design for failure from day one
  • Understanding of how contracts impact infrastructure (compliance/legal constraints)
  • DevOps/infrastructure core with full-stack range and strong debugging ability, root-cause oriented
  • Years of experience: 2+
