About the role

Senior Consulting Engineer providing Consultative Support and Project Engineering for ClickHouse enterprise customers, blending hands-on engineering, development assistance, and high-tier support across Consultative Support, Engineering, and Support.

Responsibilities

  • Project Engineering & Consulting (50%): design, architecture, integration, implementation, documentation; research, benchmarking, performance testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, development, tooling
  • Consultative Support (50%): case-initiated consultative support for strategic users, onboarding, production launches, POCs
  • Provide architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on tasks
  • Work as a member of the Support Team handling L1 to L3 cases when not on projects
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on roadmap and account plans
  • Develop and assist with Public/Internal Documentation, Knowledge Base, Learning, Reference Architecture, blogs, benchmarks
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members
  • Available for scheduling/on-call needs to deliver 24x7 support in a global, distributed environment, including up to 35% onsite regional travel

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant distributed DBMSs
  • Technical breadth in DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System/Network Administration, big data
  • Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects with multiple engineers
  • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their IaaS offerings (e.g. EC2)
