About the role

Data Scientist to join Clay's Data Science and Analytics team as a partner to cross-functional teams, owning end-to-end, challenging analytics including experiments, predictive models, and new business metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Own causal inference and experimentation
  • Design and analyze experiments, and build incrementality measurement where clean A/B tests aren't possible
  • Define how we measure the business and shape metric trees that connect team-level metrics to company outcomes
  • Build predictive models that focus the team on what matters most
  • Go deep on root-cause anomalies and develop new analysis frameworks
  • Partner as an embedded expert to leaders, turning ambiguous strategic questions into rigorous, decision-ready analysis

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in data science, with demonstrated ownership of experimentation, causal inference, or predictive modeling
  • Strong product and business sense with a track record of influencing product and business decisions
  • Strong statistical and experimentation foundations: experiment design, effect estimation, large exploratory analysis toolkit
  • Expert SQL and Python
  • Experience using AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate analytical work
  • Clear communicator who can influence senior stakeholders
