About the role

IT Operations Engineer at Clay responsible for owning and operating the systems, data, and vendor relationships that keep IT infrastructure reliable and auditable as the company scales. Works between IT Support and Systems Engineering to maintain the CMDB/ITAM, MDM, SaaS stack, and compliance programs (SOC 2 / ISO 27001) with a focus on governance, documentation, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Own MDM: manage Mac fleet in Iru, configuration profiles, zero-touch enrollment, custom scripts, remediation; support Windows footprint.
  • Own the CMDB, asset data, and the ITAM vendor: maintain source of truth for assets and systems, manage hardware procurement, deployments, collection, and data reconciliation across IdP and HR systems.
  • Own vendor management and renewals: track contracts, renewals, license true-ups, and maintain SaaS/hardware agreements.
  • Help maintain compliance benchmarks: support SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness through offboarding rigor, access reviews, and evidence collection.
  • Administer and govern the SaaS stack: Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom; provisioning, settings, access hygiene, and review preparation.
  • Keep documentation current: maintain runbooks, configuration records, and process docs.
  • Partner on change and projects: collaborate on lightweight change management and IT projects; handle escalations from Support.
  • Provide ongoing governance and operational excellence to ensure systems are accurate, auditable, and scalable.
  • Operate with an AI-forward mindset to improve efficiency and handling of volume.

Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years in IT, with senior operations, systems, or infrastructure experience
  • Track record of operating IT systems at scale
  • Deep MDM experience: Iru, Jamf Pro or similar, including configuration profiles, zero-touch enrollment, scripting
  • Bash scripting for macOS management; Windows MDM familiarity
  • Deep day-to-day Okta administration: integrations, group/access management, troubleshooting
  • Experience with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 in IT context: access reviews, offboarding rigor, evidence collection
  • Experience owning ITAM or CMDB: asset tracking, inventory reconciliation
  • Vendor management experience: contracts, renewals, license management
  • Broad SaaS admin across Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and modern stack
  • Strong documentation skills
  • AI-forward mindset for productivity
  • Clear communicator and process-oriented
