About the role
Senior AI Product Manager at 9fin, overseeing AI-powered product strategy and execution within the AI surface. Focus on agentic workflows, multi-step reasoning, and domain-specific automation for debt markets, collaborating with ML engineers, data scientists, domain experts, and designers.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively create and champion a clear product vision and strategy for your area, with a focus on building and evolving our AI products
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into problem statements that identify root causes
- Shape the next generation of agentic AI products: multi-step reasoning workflows, tool orchestration, and autonomous task completion for financial professionals
- Demonstrate understanding of challenges specific to building with LLMs, including hallucinations, output quality evaluation, and non-deterministic systems
- Use prototypes, user research, and data analysis to validate AI-powered product interactions before full builds
- Use the team's AI evaluation framework to validate and improve products
- Contribute to data strategy: annotation quality, ground truth curation, feedback loops to improve model performance
- Identify and track metrics measuring client and business benefit; participate in continuous model evaluation and improvement
- Create a collaborative squad environment with clear goals
- Bridge business needs and AI capabilities with data scientists and ML engineers
- Communicate strategy and progress transparently across the organization
- Translate complex AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Champion responsible AI practices: transparency, bias monitoring, and compliance with client expectations about AI outputs
- Own the roadmap for AI-powered legal document extraction and covenant analysis; ensure outputs meet precision standards
- Partner with engineering to define evaluation frameworks for AI outputs in legal contexts
- Identify opportunities to apply AI to novel legal workflow problems (e.g., covenant compliance monitoring, cross-document analysis)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in FinTech or B2B SaaS, with at least 2 years focused on ML or GenAI products
- Working knowledge of RAG architectures, embeddings, prompt engineering, and LLM evaluation methods
- Experience shipping AI products with probabilistic output quality; ability to define "good enough" and iterate
- Comfort reading Python notebooks and SQL to interrogate model outputs and usage data
- Track record of shipping AI products balancing ML research/exploration and production delivery constraints
- Collaborative leadership style with strong stakeholder management
- User-centric communication skills to explain AI capabilities to clients and internal stakeholders
- Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and enjoys building something new
