About the role

Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate TwelveLabs' AI platform infrastructure and internal platform with a strong platform/SRE focus. Responsible for end-to-end production reliability, observability, performance, and operational maturity, owning incidents from investigation to root cause and long-term improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, operate scalable infrastructure and internal platform powering TwelveLabs AI products
  • Own production system reliability and runbooks from incident response to root cause analysis and long-term improvements
  • Build and operate CI/CD pipelines and observability systems for fast, safe deployment
  • Use Terraform and similar IaC tools to automate CI/CD and infrastructure at scale
  • Improve production system reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Develop platform and tooling to help Product and Engineering teams develop and deploy more efficiently
  • Collaborate with Backend Engineers, ML Engineers, Researchers, and Product teams to understand system requirements and build platform solutions
  • Lead technical problems with unclear ownership from investigation through implementation to production rollout

Qualifications

  • AWS, GCP, or Azure production experience
  • High proficiency in Linux, Networking, Containers, Kubernetes
  • Terraform, Ansible or similar IaC tooling experience
  • CI/CD and deployment system design and operation experience
  • Observability, Monitoring, Logging, Alerting, and Production Incident Response experience
  • Programming or scripting in Python, Go, TypeScript or equivalent
  • Experience debugging complex multi-layer production systems
  • Strong understanding of Distributed Systems and Cloud Architecture
  • Root cause analysis mindset with ownership beyond symptomatic fixes
  • Ability to operate effectively when ownership boundaries are unclear
