About the role
Backend Software Engineer on the Factory team responsible for internal systems, data layer, autonomous agents, and customer lifecycle automation, powered by AI and integrated with Rogo’s platform.
Responsibilities
- Own internal systems end to end: turn ambiguous operational problems into production services, from conception to deployment. Routing, approvals, notifications, reporting, provisioning, and workflows currently in spreadsheets or people’s heads.
- Build the internal data layer: integrate heterogeneous systems of record (CRM, product usage, billing, call recordings, support history, third-party enrichment) into a coherent, reliable, queryable picture of every account and customer interaction.
- Ship agents that run unattended: design agent workflows that perform real work (research, enrichment, drafting, summarization, data entry, systems hygiene) with evals, guardrails, and monitoring for production reliability.
- Automate the customer lifecycle: build provisioning, onboarding, and account setup systems to scale implementation for enterprise customers.
- Build with the same AI that powers the product: work as a demanding internal user of Rogo’s tech, feeding learnings back to product teams.
- Handle company and customer data with care: build secure, compliant integrations with high standards of trust, privacy, and reliability.
- Measure your own impact: instrument shipments and measure hours saved, error rates, and cycle time; retire inefficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field.
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping and operating production backend systems end to end.
- Strong TypeScript for backend services and APIs. Working proficiency in Java/Python or another second language is a plus.
- Hands-on experience deploying and running production services on GCP or equivalent cloud stack.
- Strong command of relational databases and SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling for other systems.
- Demonstrated experience building on LLMs in production: prompting, tool and function calling, retrieval, agent workflows, plus evaluation and guardrails.
- Fluency integrating third-party APIs (REST, webhooks, authentication, rate limits, pagination) and reconciling cross-system data.
- Knowledge of asynchronous patterns: queuing, background jobs, scheduling, retries, idempotency, observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
- Excellent communication skills to work with non-technical stakeholders, translate needs into requirements, and ship without a formal spec.
- Track record of shipping high-quality software in unstructured, fast-moving environments with autonomy.
- Demonstrated passion for AI agents and automation through systems you’ve built.
- Interest in corporate finance and capital markets is a strong plus.
