About the role

SoC HW (Digital, Analog or PnP) Validation Engineer within the post-silicon validation team of Microsoft’s Compute Silicon & Manufacturing Engineering (CSME), responsible for functional and/or power/performance validation of custom SoCs and contributing to silicon debug tools, validation strategies, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Own post-silicon validation of one of the following areas - functional, electrical, or power/performance.
  • Define, guide, and contribute to the implementation of silicon debug tools and capabilities.
  • Ramp up on architecture, feature/flow/protocol implementation, and their interactions with other SoC parts, the platform, and software.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Develop validation strategy, requirements, environments, tools, and methodologies including debug board and hardware/software requirements.
  • Apply validation principles to write test plans and implement them via test content, scripts, tools, and other validation collateral.
  • Execute content in post-silicon, triage and debug failures.
  • Engage with partners to drive continuous improvement to design, validation plans/collateral, and methodology.
  • Collaborate with architects, logic designers, verification engineers, other post-silicon validators, and IP/tool providers.
  • Deliver high-quality results on schedule and provide technical leadership with respect and integrity.
  • Contribute to pre-silicon verification plans, tests, and debug of the area.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
