About the role

Senior Financial Analyst partnering with Samsara's R&D organization to manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI infrastructure costs, develop reporting and attribution frameworks for AI spend, support month-end close, and drive forecasting models. Remote role open to US or Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with leaders across Software and Firmware Engineering to manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI vendor spend
  • Analyze financial results, prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting, and support financial review meetings with R&D and Finance leadership
  • Partner with Accounting on month-end close activities, cost classification, and reporting requests
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to drive AOP planning
  • Improve the accuracy and scalability of existing financial reporting and forecasting models
  • Develop new mechanisms, analysis, or KPIs to inspect business performance
  • Leverage AI tools to streamline financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis workflows
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Experience at a high-growth tech company
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, often changing environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management
  • Proactive and highly organized self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
