About the role

Mid-level Email Marketing Developer responsible for building, testing, and maintaining responsive email templates in Iterable, with a strong focus on HTML/CSS development, templating, QA, and cross-tool integrations within the martech stack.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible email templates in Iterable—using both drag-and-drop editors and hand-coded HTML/CSS depending on project requirements.
  • Develop HTML templating for direct mailers (letters, postcards, and print assets) as part of brand redesign.
  • Develop reusable, modular templating systems and components in Iterable for faster, consistent campaigns across lifecycle streams.
  • Optimize emails for fast load speed through efficient image compression, modern file formats, and lightweight CSS.
  • Audit, review, and QA HTML email code generated by AI/agents for technical accuracy, formatting, and rendering integrity.
  • Debug and test campaigns across major inboxes/devices (Apple Mail, Gmail, Outlook); ensure display in dark mode and mobile layouts.
  • Own the email HTML QA process before send to catch and resolve rendering issues early.
  • Connect Iterable and other martech tools using APIs, webhooks, iFrames, and Make/Zapier.
  • Build automations to support lifecycle experiments and workaround platform limitations.
  • Support integrations between email/lifecycle systems (Iterable) and community platforms (Circle).
  • Partner with designers/strat to flag feasibility and rendering risks early; contribute UX/accessibility improvements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in technical email development and marketing operations.
