About the role

Microsoft Senior Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT) responsible for prioritizing and assigning ticketed work, guiding inbound/outbound logistics tasks, and ensuring inventory accuracy within Microsoft CO+I data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize ticketing queues, work to resolve escalations, and clear blocking issues to enable continued delivery of Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) activities.
  • Provide task specific guidance to a team of technicians responsible for preparing and executing incoming/outgoing deliveries and documenting inbound/outbound packages (e.g. PO receiving, RMS activities).
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders including third-party warehouses, OEM vendors, and suppliers to facilitate inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Perform assigned tasks and escalate issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations.
  • Leverage process knowledge and technical skills to resolve escalations, clear blocking issues, and enable on-site and/or remote data center support activities.
  • Maintain a strong stakeholder focus to improve quality and ensure customer ROI.
  • Ensure teams maintain steps required to keep inventory balance accurate.
  • Act as SME about the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) warranty process and ensure teams process failed vendor hardware devices using RMAs.
  • Manage schedule of DBD destruction or shredding in partnership with senior leadership and ensure team follows all processes for DBD destruction.
  • Attend, conduct, or assist in daily safety briefings, complete required safety training, and guide technicians on safety procedures (PPE, rack moving, lifting, etc.).
  • Seek opportunities to contribute to workstreams and evolve processes toward simplification and automation.
  • Embody Microsoft culture and values.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma AND Demonstrated experience warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field.
  • This role requires on-site work; own transport advised due to limited public transport.
  • OR equivalent experience.
