About the role

Microsoft AI R&D Center in Taiwan seeks a Software Engineer 2 focused on data pipelines and cloud-scale AI services within the Azure Multimodal Intelligence (MMI) team, delivering compliant, secure, reliable, high-performance AI products for millions of requests.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software to enhance availability, reliability, scalability, latency, security, resiliency, and efficiency of services
  • Collaborate across teams to share best practices, improve engineering standards, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive adoption of modern data engineering capabilities
  • Demonstrate ability to learn rapidly, be self-directed, and collaborate effectively with team members
  • Foster a culture of agility, innovation, teamwork, customer-focus, and data-driven decision making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of proven track record for building and shipping production service
  • Experience designing, developing, or supporting data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data models, or analytical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability and effectiveness working in a significant technical problem domain (planning, design, execution, continuous release, service operation)
  • Ability to multi-task while balancing short-term and long-term tasks
  • Agility in fast-paced environment
