About the role

Software Engineer on the Microsoft Specialized Clouds / US Gov Clouds Security Confidential Trust Team, focusing on confidential computing and at-rest encryption in highly regulated and sovereign environments to enable secure cloud workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) on-call, typically 24/7 for one week every 6-8 weeks, to respond to service degradation, downtime, or interruptions. Responds within SLA timeframe. Escalates issues to appropriate owners. Reviews and writes issues postmortem and shares insights with the team.
  • Contributes to data collection, classification, and analysis to identify health of the system and bug occurrences; informs decision-making for product engineering.
  • Contributes to development of automation within production and deployment of a complex product feature; runs code in non-production environments to confirm functionality with minimal oversight.
  • Stays current in skills to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance; drives consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
  • Applies best practices to reliably build code, scales to meet customer requirements, and ensures performance expectations.
  • Maintains communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem to align product development with partner/customer goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
