About the role

Join the Microsoft Specialized Cloud (MSC) team building and operating highly secure cloud platforms and services for U.S. Government customers. Roles focus on secure, compliant, and reliable software in specialized environments, with opportunities to learn and grow within an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and evolution of scalable distributed systems, APIs, services, and platform capabilities, balancing security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and cost.
  • Develop automated tests, monitoring, telemetry, and operational tooling to improve software quality and service health.
  • Apply security, privacy, and compliance best practices throughout the software development lifecycle in specialized cloud environments.
  • Diagnose, debug, and resolve technical issues across the software stack using data and telemetry to improve performance and reliability.
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain software features and services that meet customer and product requirements within security and compliance constraints.
  • Participate in operational activities including monitoring, incident response, and readiness reviews for dependable services in restricted environments.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, security engineers, infrastructure teams, and peers to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Learn new technologies and engineering practices, contribute to knowledge sharing and technical growth.
  • Collaborate with teammates to analyze requirements, review designs and code, and improve engineering quality and operational readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
