About the role

MBA Internship in Treasury Finance at Microsoft (Summer 2027) for 12 weeks in Redmond, WA. Intern will support treasury activities including cash flow analysis, liquidity, capital structure, funding strategies, and treasury operations, with presentation of findings to finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the analysis of current and projected cash flows, liquidity positions, funding needs, and capital requirements across Microsoft’s global businesses. Support research and analytical projects that inform treasury strategy, capital allocation decisions, and financial planning activities.
  • Assist in the evaluation of capital structure, capital return, investment, and funding strategies through financial modeling, peer benchmarking, and market research. Develop insights on industry trends, macroeconomic developments, and key financial metrics to support decision making.
  • Support initiatives focused on optimizing liquidity, managing financial risks, enhancing banking and payment capabilities, and improving treasury operations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external financial partners to execute treasury processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation.
  • Analyze economic, financial market, and business data to assess implications for Microsoft’s investment portfolio and treasury strategy. Apply quantitative and analytical techniques to evaluate scenarios, model outcomes, and develop recommendations within a risk and return framework.
  • Synthesize complex financial information into clear, actionable insights and communicate findings through executive-ready presentations, reports, and recommendations for treasury leadership and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
  • Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.
  • 3+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience

  • Base pay: USD $5,190.00 - $10,250.00 per month; location-based variations (San Francisco Bay Area and NYC: USD $6,810.00 - $11,330.00 per month).
