About the role

MBA internship in Microsoft’s Central Finance Team for Summer 2027 in Redmond, WA. 12-week project to support senior Finance leaders, with learning, mentorship, and opportunities to present findings to finance executives.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the analysis of present and future financial performance of various products, segments, or other businesses. Assists more upper-level team members to conduct analysis and research studies of financial plans, acquisition activity, and future opportunities.
  • Assists in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process. Gathers insight and contributes to analysis and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles.
  • Contributes insights for financial plans, variance analysis, resource optimization, investments, KPIs, long-range planning, and margin accountability. Engages with internal and external stakeholders to manage and execute processes.
  • Assembles and summarizes data through data mining and BI to structure reports and financial models for decision support. Applies statistical analyses, predictive analytics, and financial modeling. Acts as SME for data management and operations.
  • Use AI-enabled tools, automation, and advanced analytics to accelerate financial analysis, identify insights, and improve scalability and quality of Finance processes.
  • Communicates recurring and ad-hoc results in a logical and understandable message.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
  • Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.
  • 3+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
