About the role

Global Payroll Operations Specialist responsible for operational execution, compliance, and partner relations for Costa Rica, contributing payroll expertise to product development and ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Execution: Run accurate, timely payroll, tax filings, and payments for all Rippling customers in Costa Rica.
  • Compliance & Operations: Manage end-to-end payroll activities in strict accordance with local labor laws, social security requirements, and country-specific tax legislation.
  • Agency & Partner Relations: Interface directly with local government agencies, third-party partners, and customers to resolve complex payroll and tax issues.
  • Product Collaboration: Partner closely with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure native software compliance with localized tax and payroll regulations, rapidly diagnose and resolve product bugs, and define/prioritize requirements for internal operational tooling.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience with knowledge of Costa Rica payroll software, labor legislation, local tax laws, and leave entitlements.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, validate complex calculations, and interface with clients under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or MS Office (advanced Excel/Sheets); familiarity with Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence is a plus.
  • Business fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
