About the role

Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) supporting maintenance of critical infrastructure for datacenters, including monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and development of MOPs/SOPs. Role contributes to core infrastructure powering Microsoft online services and includes employee development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned basic tasks (e.g., building rounds, recording observations, taking measurements) with varying supervision.
  • Under supervision, monitor and inspect critical environment facility equipment (controls, HVAC, mechanical systems), and building/grounds for unsafe or abnormal conditions.
  • Learn to operate all systems safely and understand risks associated with their use.
  • Utilize CMMS to track equipment assets and complete maintenance work orders.
  • Safely assist in emergency monitoring and response following Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
  • Perform maintenance (planned, predictive, corrective) per assigned tasks, MOPs and SOPs.
  • Document tasks and issues, follow up as needed, and escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide escorts for third-party contractors and service providers on site as required.
  • Follow safety, security, EH&S, JHA and environmental requirements and business processes to perform work safely and reliably.
  • Adhere to Microsoft culture and values.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • English language proficiency for working in a global environment.
  • Polish SEP qualification (at least type E) for operation of equipment, installations and energy networks; active certificate valid for 5 years to be provided during recruitment.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including outside standard hours (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).
