About the role

Research Internships at Microsoft provide a dynamic environment for research careers in various disciplines. The Research Intern will perform research on quantum algorithms and/or quantum information protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computers, focusing on designing efficient quantum circuits for algorithmic primitives and studying their complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Research Interns put inquiry and theory into practice. Collaborate with mentors and other researchers, present findings, and contribute to the community during the 12-week internship.
  • Pairing with mentors, collaboration with other interns and researchers, presenting findings, and contributing to the research community.
  • Work typically begins in summer; internships offered year-round.
  • Apply research to quantum algorithms and/or quantum information protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computers, with potential applications in areas such as simulation and communication.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Doctorate Degree program in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or a related field.

Benefits

  • Base pay range provided: USD $6,810 - $13,480 per month. Higher range USD $8,920 - $14,610 per month in San Francisco Bay Area and NYC metropolitan area.
