About the role

Technical Recruiter responsible for end-to-end recruitment of researchers and engineers, building pipelines, partnering with founders, and closing candidates in a high-visibility, research-driven AI environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for technical roles across research, platform, product engineering and technical program management — intake through close.
  • Source the passive market directly using publications, citations, open-source contributions, conference participation, academic networks and referrals.
  • Partner with hiring managers and the co-founders to turn vague needs into real roles: scope, bar, loop, and what a yes looks like.
  • Develop domain fluency to evaluate technical qualifications and provide valuable input in debriefs.
  • Close candidates, handle competing offers, and negotiate alongside the founders.
  • Own candidate experience end to end; ensure every candidate leaves with a positive impression.
  • Use AI to automate market mapping, research, outreach drafting, and funnel analysis.
  • Report on pipeline health, time-to-fill, source effectiveness and offer outcomes, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Take ownership of increasingly ambiguous recruiting and People problems as you grow in the role.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting, including startup environments where processes did not exist.
  • Experience hiring engineers or researchers in competitive markets with multiple offers.
  • Ability to source passive candidates and name recent non-applicant finds.
  • Technical fluency to read resumes, GitHub profiles, or papers and form independent judgments.
  • Strong closing and negotiation skills with ability to build compelling value propositions.
  • Clear judgment on hiring bar and ability to uphold it in discussions with founders.
  • Strong ATS hygiene, honest pipeline reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Excitement for AI and interest in leveraging technology to increase effectiveness.
  • Exceptional written communication; outreach as a candidate-facing first impression.
