About the role
Director-level role responsible for owning Omniscient's AI search delivery, building and leading the AEO & SEO department, and shaping methodology, P&L, team growth, and market presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the team. Hire, coach, and hold accountable your Team Leads, Strategists, and Analysts. Develop leaders beneath you, plan capacity and succession, and build AEO fluency, analytical depth, and executive presence across the department.
- Own the department’s business and goals. Contribute to annual budget development and own the department's P&L, headcount, and KPIs. Make staffing and scope decisions with margin in mind, and grow the department through expansion and new services.
- Meet with clients proactively and regularly. You get the voice of the customer and understand our clients’ challenges, opportunities, and sentiment around the team’s work. Identify opportunities to do more and use feedback to improve services and delivery.
- Bring in business. Generate leads and revenue through POVs on LinkedIn and events, build industry relationships, and collaborate with Sales to package and price offerings. No quota but accountable for sourcing leads and revenue goals.
- Set the direction for our methodology. Own AEO & SEO POV and measurement philosophy. Lead senior strategists and analysts in building and evolving playbooks.
- Lead AI integration across the department. Set standards for AI use, build high-leverage tools, automate tedious tasks, and ensure AI enhances quality rather than excuses poor work.
- Define, enforce, and exemplify excellence. Define research, strategy, and reporting standards and build QA to ensure deliverables meet the bar.
- Own client health across the portfolio. Partner with Account Managers and Directors to deliver integrated AI search programs and provide senior support when needed.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in SEO and organic growth, including meaningful hands-on AEO work in the last 18-24 months.
- Experience with AI visibility tools (e.g., Peec or Profound) and ability to explain visibility concepts (visibility, share of voice, citations, recommendations).
- Experience leading multi-level teams (managers or team leads) and owning P&L, budgets, and targets.
- Commercial mindset—ability to tie organic work to pipeline and revenue and defend attribution to C-suite.
- Strong network and presence in the industry, with ability to generate new business.
- Player-coach capable of communicating complex ideas to analysts and senior executives.
- AI-native in driving adoption and shipping agents/automation to aid AEO/SEO work.
- Attention to detail (clear memos, refined presentations, clean data). Includes passcode AEO2026 in application as a filter.
