About the role

Microsoft Azure Data engineering team focusing on Data Integration within Microsoft Fabric, hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager to work on Power Query and Dataflows, driving end-to-end data integration, high-scale engineering, and customer-centric innovation across surfaces like Fabric, Excel, and Power Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches team on using AI tools and practices across the SDLC, mentoring on SDLC and engineering health measures, and experimenting with AI tools
  • Reviews product code and test code to ensure standards, test coverage, and quality; leads code reviews for diagnosability, reliability, testability, maintainability, security, compliance, and best practices; advocates automated source code analysis tools
  • Identifies dependencies and incorporates them into design documents; collaborates with other teams to leverage upstream/downstream interactions; resolves conflicts around dependencies
  • Drives best practices for secure design, reliability, performance, and security; promotes GenAI tooling to enhance productivity
  • Delivers empowerment and accountability through modeling, coaching, and care; defines team objectives and enables success; focuses on growth of team members
  • Integrates logging and instrumentation for telemetry, monitors security scenarios, analyzes metrics, and creates dashboards/notifications to improve monitoring and issue mitigation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
