About the role

Site-based project engineering support with APAC CE&I regional involvement, focused on electrical engineering and MEP systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, life safety) across project delivery, commissioning, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical engineering support throughout construction, testing, commissioning and project close-out.
  • Review MEP installation issues, technical queries, RFIs, submittals, design changes and field conditions.
  • Assess whether proposed solutions align with approved design documentation, specifications, safety requirements and project objectives.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces to identify gaps, clashes, sequencing constraints and system integration risks.
  • Support resolution of site issues without displacing accountability from designers, contractors or project delivery teams.
  • Monitor closure of assigned technical actions and verify outcomes in field execution and project records.
  • Apply strong electrical engineering judgement while reviewing wider MEP system and interfaces.
  • Support technical reviews and project assessments across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, fire and life safety systems as applicable.
  • Identify non-compliance, deviations, design gaps, scope gaps, constructability concerns and risks to operability or maintainability.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations and escalate issues requiring specialist or final engineering authority.
  • Promote consistent interpretation and implementation of approved requirements across APAC projects while acknowledging local regulatory obligations.
  • Support commissioning readiness reviews, system turnover, pre-functional checks, functional testing and integrated systems testing activities.
  • Investigate commissioning failures, recurring test issues, equipment performance concerns and MEP interface problems.
  • Establish safe and technically sound recovery actions with stakeholders.
  • Ensure commissioning issues are documented, assigned and tracked to closure with evidence.
  • Identify recurring commissioning constraints and recommend procedural or planning improvements.
  • Support and review root cause analyses for material construction, quality, engineering and commissioning events.
  • Challenge incomplete problem statements and ineffective corrective actions.
  • Distinguish immediate, contributing and systemic causes to determine appropriate actions.
  • Capture and translate lessons learnt into actionable guidance or document changes.
  • Support verification that corrective actions and lessons are implemented and closed.
  • Provide targeted regional support to other APAC projects and participate in multidisciplinary reviews.
  • Contribute to programme reviews, technical assessments, papers, guidance documents and improvement initiatives.
  • Share solutions and emerging risks to improve regional consistency and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, MEP construction, project engineering, or mission-critical infrastructure delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex construction projects through installation, testing, commissioning and close-out.
  • Practical understanding of multidisciplinary MEP systems and interfaces between electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls and life safety systems.
  • Experience investigating technical failures, supporting RCA development and implementing corrective actions and lessons learnt.
  • Experience working with designers, contractors, commissioning providers, equipment vendors, project managers and operations teams.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, technical submittals, testing documentation and commissioning records.
  • Professional engineering registration or chartered status is desirable where applicable.
  • Less than 10 years experience candidates will be reviewed based on specific DC, strong electrical/ MEP experience only.
