About the role

Entry-level software engineer role for recent graduates at Forage, a payments tech startup focused on enabling government benefits payments and improving financial access. Hybrid role in New York or San Francisco with opportunities to work on backend (Python/Django) or frontend (TypeScript) and contribute to Android/iOS SDKs.

Responsibilities

  • Ship impactful features and participate in full development lifecycle from implementation to launch
  • Give and receive feedback in code reviews
  • Contribute to technical designs
  • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and user-friendly
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and operations teams on cross-functional projects
  • Develop project management and technical leadership skills, taking ownership of projects from start to finish

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, software engineering or related field
  • Internship or project experience demonstrating collaboration with other engineers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Love of learning and ability to grow in a dynamic environment
  • General software engineering knowledge with a specialized area of interest (e.g., frontend development)
