About the role

Direct Tax Lead responsible for US income tax provision, compliance, and controls for ElevenLabs, overseeing external providers, managing ASC 740 activities, and coordinating with Big 4 advisors and external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision (deferreds, valuation allowance, uncertain tax positions, rate rec, footnote disclosures)
  • Manage US federal and state compliance calendar (returns, extensions, estimated payments)
  • Oversee technical work underlying provision (§174 capitalization, §382 and NOL tracking)
  • Directly manage engagements with external providers and ensure output quality
  • Assist in designing, documenting, and operating SOX controls over tax or support a first SOX implementation
  • Write memos supporting positions and collaborate with Big 4 advisors and external auditors alongside Head of Tax

Qualifications

  • Deep ASC 740 expertise at a multinational — provision, deferreds, valuation allowance, uncertain tax positions, rate reconciliation, and footnote disclosure
  • Experience owning a US federal and multistate compliance calendar (returns, extensions, estimates)
  • Working knowledge of US international provisions (NCTI/GILTI, Subpart F, FDDEI, §163(j)) and how they flow into the provision
  • Experience managing Big 4 or equivalent providers and working directly with external auditors
  • Has built or operated SOX controls over tax, or supported a first SOX implementation
  • CPA
