About the role

Engineering Manager for the Search team at Oxylabs, leading and scaling a fast-paced, data-driven engineering group responsible for large-scale web data infrastructure, including browser patching, deep packet inspection, and self-healing autonomous scrapers.

Responsibilities

  • Apply our leadership principles to guide your team and drive results.
  • Own the team's operational results, ensuring high success rates, data integrity, fast response times, and strict adherence to SLAs.
  • Guide the team through complex technical challenges, including browser patching, network traffic analysis, and building self-healing autonomous scrapers.
  • Establish and continuously improve the team's autonomous delivery processes, focusing on actual results rather than traditional sprint rituals.
  • Balance rapid incident response with strategic, long-term engineering work to eliminate root causes of problems.
  • Hire, mentor, and protect the team from burnout by sharing the load fairly and aligning with product stakeholders on critical priorities.

Qualifications

  • Background as a software engineer with proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams in production environments.
  • Deep understanding of web fundamentals, including HTTP, browsers, system design, and networking, to effectively guide complex technical decisions.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills with a focus on tracking reliability and performance metrics.
  • Ability to stay calm, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift based on external technological changes.
  • Good English communication skills, capable of thriving in an international, hybrid team setting.
