About the role

Solution Engineer to support AI-centric startups and software customers on Microsoft Azure, driving architectural decisions, demos, pilots, and production-readiness plans to translate customer goals into measurable Azure usage and platform adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical strategy for assigned customers across the adoption journey (discovery to close, MVP, pilot, production adoption and scaling).
  • Lead architecture-led customer conversations across Azure AI, application innovation, data platforms, developer tools, cloud operations, governance, and security topics.
  • Design end-to-end solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AI agents, AKS, containers, serverless, APIs, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Power BI, and GitHub.
  • Deliver demos, whiteboarding sessions, architecture workshops, POCs, and technical validations demonstrating business value and path to production.
  • Translate customer goals into decision criteria, success plans, implementation roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify and remove technical blockers (architecture gaps, security concerns, capacity/quota, migration risks, integration challenges, operational readiness).
  • Partner with account executives, specialists, and customer success teams to support pipeline, milestone hygiene, and forecast quality.
  • Differentiate Microsoft by positioning Azure as trusted, secure, scalable, integrated for AI-native software companies.
  • Capture reusable patterns and customer insights to scale the business globally.
  • Support customer scenarios: AI-native app development, cloud-native platform scaling, data-driven modernization, SMB/software company growth, technical acceleration.

Qualifications

  • Experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, cloud architecture, software engineering, technical consulting, or equivalent customer-facing technical role.
  • Ability to influence CTOs, founders, engineering leaders, architects, and product leaders.
  • Hands-on understanding of cloud architecture, security, reliability, scalability, integration, and operations.
  • Practical experience with AI, data, analytics, application modernization or developer platform solutions on Azure or comparable clouds.
  • Experience creating demos, prototypes, POCs, pilots or MVPs leading to technical decisions and production adoption.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, collaboration; ability to drive consensus without direct authority.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
