About the role

Junior Engineer on the Application Security team focused on building and maintaining security tooling and supporting the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) at 1Password.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain new or existing security tooling (static analysis, dynamic analysis, code scanning, and emerging AI-enabled solutions)
  • Support the SSDLC and related security activities including design review, threat modelling, and security tooling
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Security, Product Engineering, Marketing, CX and more to consider security parameters of new features
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting metrics around the security risk program
  • Enhance and maintain existing security tools across static/dynamic analysis and code scanning
  • Design, build, integrate and scale agentic AI capabilities to enable secure product development activities

Qualifications

  • 0-2+ years of experience in software development
  • Passion and curiosity for security engineering (secure coding, pentesting, vulnerability analysis, security design/architecture)
  • Experience leveraging agentic AI to accelerate security workflows or automate repetitive tasks
  • Experience with internal tool development and engineering enablement
  • Strong foundational understanding of software development principles; comfortable reading and writing code
  • Team collaboration and positive communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Adaptable and resilient in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
