About the role

Lead the technical direction of Airwallex’s ecosystem platform, connecting financial products with customer software by designing scalable platforms, APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns for third-party developers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical roadmap for the App Marketplace and Extension Framework, contributing to architectural decisions, coding standards, observability patterns and security practices.
  • Design and evolve platforms and integrations across accounting, HR, ERP, marketplace, payment and open-banking systems.
  • Build secure, reliable APIs, SDKs, webhooks and UI-extension patterns that enable third-party developers and partners to build on Airwallex.
  • Improve developer experience through documentation, sandboxes, and tooling.
  • Partner with engineering, product, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver secure, reliable experiences.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience developing internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Kotlin, C++, Python or a similar language.
  • Deep familiarity with the standard library, idiomatic usage, and best practices of your primary programming language.
  • Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace, or extension framework.
  • Experience designing scalable systems and making sound architectural decisions across complex technical domains.
  • A track record of leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from technical strategy through delivery.
