About the role

Senior Software Engineer responsible for developing and operating next-generation services to support Surface and Xbox devices from factory to doorstep, within Microsoft Devices Operations under Windows and Devices.

Responsibilities

  • AI-driven development & code quality: Leverages AI across the Software Development Lifecycle and leads high-quality coding practices, ensuring secure, scalable, maintainable code through strong reviews, testing, and best practices.
  • Reliability & live-site excellence: Uses telemetry, debugging, and root cause analysis to proactively prevent issues, improve system health, and drive incident resolution as DRI.
  • Architecture & design leadership: Owns or influences complex system design and architecture, balancing performance, scalability, cost, and trade-offs.
  • Security, compliance & safe deployment: Ensures adherence to security, privacy, and compliance standards while driving automation, CI/CD, and safe, efficient deployments.
  • Collaboration & continuous improvement: Partners cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end solutions, incorporates customer insights, and continuously improves systems, processes, and engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.
