About the role

Microsoft CO+I Critical Environment Operations Specialist responsible for data center operations and service delivery, focusing on mechanical/electrical equipment, safety, compliance, and efficiency within Microsoft's cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Establish competent working relationships with customers.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a datacenter.
  • Manage, plan, control and organize planned preventative and corrective electrical and/or mechanical equipment using CMMS; monitor performance; allocate work to Technicians; inspect completed work to ensure standards.
  • Ensure electrical, mechanical, and/or fire/life safety equipment operates at peak efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with infrastructure operations standardization.
  • Act as escalation point for facilities-related issues; assist technicians in emergencies, provide training, and input on design parameters.
  • Manage small-to-medium projects from conception to completion.
  • Ensure routine reporting for critical infrastructure, including KPIs, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Drive cost/energy efficiency projects and identify single points of failure across regional datacenters.
  • Coordinate, plan, schedule, and supervise CE audits and compliance verifications.
  • Drive identification and remediation of vulnerabilities and provide recommendations on new data center equipment designs and construction methods.

Qualifications

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments OR equivalent experience
