About the role

Senior role focused on measuring and operating integrated quantum systems, including topological qubits, to demonstrate system capabilities and understand performance. Collaborative, interdisciplinary environment spanning materials science, nanofabrication, microwave engineering, and system engineering at Microsoft Quantum.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments to characterize the properties and performance of integrated quantum systems, including characterization of hybrid semiconductor-superconductor devices.
  • Extract actionable information from complex, partial, and noisy results, and communicate proposed actions to team members and stakeholders.
  • Seek, understand, and utilize technical input across fields including materials science, microwave engineering, and quantum device physics to drive improvements in overall system performance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate quantum measurements, including applying AI methods where appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years’ experience in industry or in a research and development environment
  • OR Master's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in industry or in a research and development environment
  • OR Doctorate in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ years’ experience in industry or in a research and development environment
  • OR equivalent experience
