- Propose network designs or architectural modifications, and participate in architecture reviews covering performance, scale, reliability, security and operational requirements.
- Develop secure and reliable automation, including infrastructure as code, that improves engineering efficiency, reduces operational burden and human error, and enables sustainable network operations at scale.
- Develop automated testing and validation for network devices, firmware and configurations, including failure and reliability scenarios, and work across internal engineering teams and external hardware and technology partners to bring solutions safely into production.
- Use telemetry and production data to identify patterns, improve detection and troubleshooting, understand network behavior and develop measurable improvements in network reliability and operation.
- Diagnose and root cause complex service-impacting issues across physical network components, device operating systems, network management systems and APIs, converting incident learnings into secure, automated and sustainable improvements.
- Participate in on-call duties for the production network, provide technical guidance during incidents, contribute to postmortem and root-cause analysis, and mentor other engineers in network engineering and live-site practices.
