About the role

Data Center Critical Environment Technician Manager within Microsoft Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I). Leads the operations and maintenance of critical environment equipment in Microsoft’s data centers, focusing on safety, efficiency, and incident response. On-site role based in Middenmeer, Netherlands.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coach team with inspection of critical environment-related facility equipment (controls, HVAC, mechanical systems); monitor maintenance performance using telemetry and control systems; identify alarms; use CMMS to track assets, complete work orders, and generate reports; lead on-site incident response for abnormal conditions and coordinate with other facilities professionals; develop and follow EOPs, MOPs, and SOPs; gather information to create incident timelines, root-cause analyses, and action items.
  • Provide and/or assign escort to third-party contractors and vendors on site; coordinate supplier on-site activities; ensure safe energizing/de-energizing of systems; participate in initiating third-party work and ensuring safety and compliance; advise colleagues on inspection and supervision issues; provide troubleshooting guidance to lower-level staff.
  • People Management
  • Safety and security compliance, JHAs, toolbox talks; maintain safe working conditions; identify resources and equipment to support EH&S objectives; participate in required trainings and handoffs.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or technical trade certification or higher-equivalent education with proven mission-critical services experience (e.g., data centers, manufacturing, hospitals, etc.)
  • Demonstrated people management experience
  • Valid driving license and ability to reliably reach the worksite within 60 minutes for on-call requirements
  • On-site presence required in Middenmeer area
  • Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check requirements
