About the role

Senior individual-contributor role focused on defining and delivering learning-products and enablement solutions to support Samsara's R&D teams. Responsible for strategy, roadmap, prototypes, and end-to-end programs to improve adoption, skills, and performance across Product, Engineering, and Design.

Responsibilities

  • Define the R&D learning-products and enablement strategy, roadmap, service model, and measures of success by understanding the needs of R&D employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Build trusted relationships across R&D and conduct discovery to identify capability, knowledge, adoption, and performance needs.
  • Diagnose whether the solution should be a learning experience, structured knowledge, workflow change, automation, self-service tool, community, manager resource, or other intervention.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, AI models, developer tools, and changes in how technical teams work; translate developments into practical recommendations for AI usage and automation boundaries.
  • Collaborate with R&D employees, technical leaders, Business Technology, Security, enterprise AI teams, and external providers to move ideas from concept to tools, workflows, prototypes, and scalable adoption.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into scalable learning products, onboarding experiences, knowledge resources, playbooks, tools, automations, and communities.
  • Create and test functional prototypes, tools, and workflow automations using AI-assisted environments, APIs, low-code platforms, etc.
  • Develop product and program requirements, user stories, workflows, success criteria, and implementation plans requiring Engineering or Business Technology support.
  • Lead complex programs from discovery through launch, with clear ownership, milestones, risks, communications, feedback loops, and dependency management.
  • Make informed recommendations about build, configure, buy, integrate, transfer, scale, or stop decisions.
  • Own and improve R&D and developer onboarding for efficient access to systems, knowledge, resources, and communities.
  • Define outcome measures beyond attendance, including adoption, behavior, capability, time-to-proficiency, self-service, efficiency, quality, and business impact.
  • Serve as senior functional leader for R&D Enablement, establishing reusable practices and execution leverage across contributors.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and partners, leading through expertise and influence.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles in scale and global expansion.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, technical program management, developer enablement, technical learning, learning technology, product enablement, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating directly with software engineering, product, data, or AI teams to deliver technical products, programs, or enablement solutions
  • Experience supporting Product, Engineering, Design, or other highly technical organizations and understanding how technical employees work
  • Ability to understand emerging technologies, developer tools, AI platforms, and translate them into practical adoption and enablement strategies
  • Experience partnering with engineers, technical leaders, and technology providers to understand product capabilities and tradeoffs
  • Hands-on experience creating functional prototypes, tools, workflow automations, or self-service solutions using AI-assisted environments, APIs, low-code platforms
  • Experience helping technical teams adopt AI-enabled tools and workflows with appropriate human oversight
  • Experience translating business problems into product requirements, user stories, workflows, and scalable solutions
  • Experience defining strategy and roadmaps in ambiguous environments and prioritizing a portfolio
  • Strong product and program leadership across teams you do not directly manage
  • Experience designing and scaling learning products, onboarding, knowledge solutions, developer education, or adoption programs
