About the role

Chief role in shaping the future of Deel’s products, driving design excellence, and delivering customer experiences by leading design initiatives, collaborating across teams, advocating for design systems, and mentoring designers.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver product design across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business partners to build coherent, high-quality experiences.
  • Champion the Deel UI/Design System strategy and drive adoption.
  • Rapidly design, prototype, and test new features based on deep understanding of business, customers, and technology.
  • Mentor and guide Product Designers, foster growth, and develop standards to enhance team efficiency.
  • Identify bottlenecks with product and engineering teams, make recommendations, and implement improvements.
  • Drive clarity and actionable insights from complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Communicate design vision effectively, facilitate collaboration, and bring teams together through inspiring narratives.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years as a Product Designer with at least 2 years in a senior role (Staff Product Designer or equivalent).
  • Strong skills in UI, UX, and visual design, with experience crafting engaging interfaces and storytelling through visuals and prototypes.
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies; experience designing AI-assisted or AI-powered experiences, or using AI tools in workflows.
  • Data-informed design approach, rooted in experimentation and evidence.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, balancing speed with quality.
  • Focus on both user experience and business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience mentoring designers and working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Payroll and Fintech industries.
