About the role

Security Engineering focused role building secure-by-default systems to protect customer data and trust across Sierra’s platform, with emphasis on identity, access control, data security, agent safety, and scalable security workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship systems that make Sierra’s platform secure by default — spanning agent safety/security, privacy, identity, authentication, authorization, and data security.
  • Own cross-cutting systems by implementing and evolving Sierra’s trust primitives: identity management, access control, auditability, and data lifecycle management.
  • Secure agentic AI systems by building runtime policy enforcement, safe agent sandboxing, and boundaries to protect data while keeping agents powerful.
  • Automate and scale security-adjacent workflows by creating developer-friendly tooling, automating security checks in CI/CD, enforcing privacy boundaries through schema validation, and instrumenting runtime monitoring for sensitive events.

Qualifications

  • Strong Software Engineering Skills. Experience building and maintaining production systems; comfortable designing APIs, integrating with authentication or identity frameworks, and using AI-assisted development tools to ship high-quality code fast.
  • Security Mindset. Ability to reason about data flows, storage, access, and least privilege/ transparency.
  • Product and Platform Mindset. Ability to build secure, scalable systems that enable innovation; collaborate with product teams on trade-offs.
  • Curiosity and Ownership. Ability to tackle ambiguous, cross-cutting problems from first principles to production; trace authorization decisions and data across systems; own outcomes in production.
