About the role
Role focused on owning everything that makes the London office work, including people operations, office operations, and team culture for a fast-growing, post-Series B YC startup. Hands-on with ownership to build scalable processes, systems, and standards in a London-based team around 20 people (part of a 100-person global company).
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day HR operations on Deel: onboarding new hires, managing contracts, processing payroll changes, and maintaining employee records.
- Automating HR Operations to build a scalable people system.
- Ensuring smooth first day and first week experiences for new joiners.
- Automating and scaling onboarding practices from contract signing to end of first month.
- Participating in high-impact operational problems with founders, Head of Talent, and AI Leader for business-wide improvements.
- Planning and running team events, offsites, and All Hands meetings.
- Owning vendor relationships, service contracts, and facility/landlord negotiations.
- Maintaining a presentable, functional, and welcoming office environment.
Qualifications
- 1–5 years experience in people operations, with hands-on payroll experience in Deel or Remote.
- London-based; available to be in office most days.
- Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently.
- Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities.
- AI and automation minded; comfortable experimenting with AI tools to connect systems.
