About the role

Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to develop and enhance scalable backend systems for their global payroll and HR platform, supporting rapid growth and high transaction volumes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a cross-functional team to create seamless experiences.
  • Participate in product planning from discovery to deployment.
  • Develop and enhance features, APIs, and improve industry-leading products.
  • Find and fix bugs efficiently to ensure high-quality software.
  • Provide an exceptional, customer-centric experience through quality engineering.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Expertise in backend development with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL, especially PostgreSQL.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Experience designing scalable systems and handling high-volume performance.
