About the role

Staff AI Engineer responsible for designing and executing Everlaw's AI strategy, leading AI-related initiatives, guiding engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to position Everlaw as an AI leader in legal discovery and litigation technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of Everlaw's technical AI strategy, including staying on the cutting edge of frontier models and participating in early access programs with major AI labs; devise the approach to using AI at trillion-token scale.
  • Guide the work of engineers across the company in using AI; lead by example in learning and sharing knowledge through design reviews, tech talks, and study groups.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, security engineers, data scientists, product leads and designers, and other cross-functional teams to pursue the goal of being the AI leader in litigation.
  • Be on the lookout for new opportunities that AI enables and influence engineering and product direction by translating ML/AI progress into legal tech applications.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience in ML/AI and 8+ years overall in software engineering
  • Led significant AI projects, including applied use of LLMs in production settings and NLP/text analysis
  • Programming skills in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python)
  • Constant learner, staying abreast of latest AI developments and their applications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers on different teams and explain technical concepts without jargon
