About the role

Yuzu’s Legal Ops team supports compliance, HIPAA, NSA-related work, and recurring legal workflows in a fast-paced environment. In the Associate role, you’ll contribute to all aspects of the legal operations function, learn about appeals and compliance features, research legal questions surrounding HIPAA and mental health parity, and perform grunt work like reviewing NSA cases and filing reports.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all aspects of the Legal Ops function, big or small
  • Learn about complex appeals, HIPAA and mental health parity compliance questions
  • Research larger legal questions surrounding HIPAA and mental health parity
  • Perform recurring legal workflows (reviewing NSA cases, filing reports, etc)

Qualifications

  • Strong reading, researching, writing, and learning abilities
  • Curiosity and willingness to ask questions
  • Ownership mindset for unfamiliar work
  • Ability to communicate with external partners with confidence and authority
  • Comfort with discomfort and challenging colleagues/partners to rethink assumptions
  • First-principles thinker
